There are three ways you can send us photos:
A photo CD from a digital camera.
From photos you have scanned and copied to CD. Please scan at 300 dpi and save as .jpg.
Loose photos for us to scan. The scanning fee is .35 cents per photo in addition to package price.
Guidelines for choosing photos:
Choose quality photos that will look great in your slide show. Avoid photos that are extremely dark, faded or in poor condition. Photo restoration is available for old or damaged photos for a fee.
Photos that are horizontally oriented (landscape) look better on screen than photos that are vertically oriented (portrait).
Close-ups that show facial expressions are better than far away shots. If two photos are similar, pick the best one.
Additional directions:
Organize the photos in the sequence you would like them to appear in the slide show. You may want to organize your photos along a time line: early childhood, first date, just married, raising our children, being grandparents, great-grand kids, etc.
Label and number each photo. Start with number "1" and count upwards. Use a numbered sticky on the back of each photo. If you do not have a preference about your photos being in a certain order in your slide show, you can skip this step. Just write a comment on the order form that your photos do not have to be in a particular order.
If you mail us a photo CD change the name of the file to be the order you want them presented. (1.jpg, 2.jpg, etc.) If you skip this step the photos will be presented in the order they appear on the photo CD.
Place your photos in zip lock storage bags and use packaging that will ensure photos are not damaged during shipping.
Music:
Fast paced music
requires more photos to look good, at least 4 seconds of music per photo, and slow-paced peaceful music requires fewer photos, 7-8 seconds of music per photo. You may want to plan for a medium-paced video where each photo stays on the screen for about 6 seconds.
Please include a music CD with your photos when shipping. It must be the original CD and not a copy or burn. If you know the name of the song(s) but do not own the music, we can purchase it for a fee of 1.00 per song. Include the appropriate amount of music for your slide show. When choosing music, it is important to remember to carefully match the song with the occasion.
